Major William Lennox (Josh Duhamel), CMSgt. Bobby Epps (Tyrese Gibson), and Captain Graham (Matthew Marsden) can be seen holding M4A1 carbines as their main weapon in the film. Apparently all the M4s as well as other weapons used by NEST were dressed up to give them a bit more of a futuristic look to them,  A lot of them are seen with Magpul PMAG polymer magazines and appear to be modified to use special Sabot ammo as was stated in the first Transformers to be the only type of ammunition that can do any damage to the Decepticons. Among the accessories seen on the M4's include Magpul CTR & LMT SOPMOD Stocks, Surefire Universal weaponlights, EOTech red dot sights, and AN/PVS-14 night-vision scopes. Other U.S. military personnel can be seen using regular M4A1's with varying accessories including ACOG scopes, C-More red dot sights, Surefire Universal weaponlights, and RIS foregrips.

The M4A1 carbines is seen as the main weapon of both NEST and the U.S. Armed Forces. The ones used by NEST are dressed up with futuristic shell handguards (some including a raised rail that overlaps the bolt release) fitted with EOTech 552 Holographic sights and/or Aimpoint Comp M4 CCO optics, AN/PVS-14 night-vision scopes, Surefire Universal weaponlights, AN/PEQ-2 IR designators, Magpul P-Mags and either Magpul CTR or LMT Crane SOPMOD stocks. Other U.S. military personnel can be seen using regular M4A1's with varying accessories including Aimpoint Comp M2 CCO optics, Trijicon ACOG scopes, C-More red dot sights, Surefire Universal weaponlights, and RIS foregrips; some which also have under barrel weapons such as M203 grenade launchers or M26 MASS shotguns.

Notice how the soldier is resting his hand FLAT behind the shotgun attachment. Any realize that shell casings are coming out, but no 30-round magazine? Hmm... using smaller magazines isn't very combatant. Plus, this might be a prop reused from movies "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines", "Terminator: Salvation", and "The One". But that's my guess.

M1 Garand rifles with the metal parts chromed are seen in the hands of a military honor guard at the NEST base in Diego Garcia when the bodies of the NEST soldiers that died in the Shanghai operation are loaded onto an awaiting USAF C-17 Globemaster transport plane.

There really is a NEST in the U.S. It stands for Nuclear Emergency Support Team (formerly Nuclear Emergency Search Team) and it is not a fighting force but has lots of scientists and bomb disposal experts. NEST usually counts on elite units from the various branches to help it with any fights or defensive postures. It is a unit of the US Department of Energy and deals mostly with detecting, controlling and deactivating nuclear devices or threats on U.S. Soil.

NEST Island Base
 +
One of the main reasons why NEST, a US run special operations unit would allow British Special Forces into their ranks not only because they are one of the few foreign nations in which the US have had good special operations history with, but because of the island in which NEST's base is stationed on. The island, which is actually a live US Naval Base called Diego Garcia, was given to the US by the British for lease. Keeping the secret of the Autobots residing on the island from the British would not have lasted long, so in good faith payment I suspect the US government allowed the British to have their own Special Forces teams within NEST; which would make sense because in several of the battle scenes it depicts British Special Forces like the SAS involved. In exchange the British would allow the US military to have full operation control of NEST and the secret of the Autobots existence to be safe.
 +

 +
In many ways the island that NEST is based in is probably the most sound and logical place for a secretive Special Ops/Autobot Task Force. Diego Garcia is in the middle of the Indian Ocean, far away from any modern city which contains curious reporters, journalists, as well as pesky nerdy conspiracy theorists. And because it is an island with water on all four sides, and its waters patrolled by a heavily armed US Naval Task Force it would be literally impossible for any trespassers to sneak onto the island to collect evidence about the existence of the Autobots. That is unless you are a Decepticon as shown in the movie.

A number of Bushmaster M17S rifles were seen in the hands of Chinese police officers & PLA soldiers in Shanghai, fitted with an unknown red dot scope. It is likely that they are standing in for the Norinco QBZ-95 rifle.

the SAS (Special Air Service) soldiers are seen wearing their sand colored berets in combat, which in real life would not happen. The sand beret is reserved only for ceremonial occasions and parades, and is substituted with either a bush hat (known as a "boonie hat" in the US) or a helmet when in the field, same as with US military headwear regulations.

M61A2 Vulcan
+
Toward the climax of the movie's final battle, Agent Simmons contacts the US Navy via radio and requests for bombardment firing order of their classified railgun to fire on the Devastator Decepticon climbing on the Great Pyramid of Giza attempting to use the harvester. The railgun is mounted on the USS Kidd. The weapon is mounted in place of its standard MK 45 naval cannon. The establishing shot shows USS Preble instead of Kidd, but Kidd was actually used during production, so it is likely that some of the other scenes are filmed on Kidd.
Starscream can be seen firing his arm-mounted M61A2 Vulcan several times in the movie.

Trivia
+
The railgun gained a somewhat notorious reputation as a pure Deus Ex Machina, being used to conveniently resolve one major conflict with no mention of it beforehand and never being mentioned again afterwards. In reality, railguns are still experimental developments and probably won't be fielded anytime soon.
N.E.S.T.
There really is a N.E.S.T. in the U.S.  It stands for Nuclear Emergency Support Team and it is not a fighting force but has lots of scientists and bomb disposal experts.  N.E.S.T. usually counts on elite units from the various branches to help it with any fights or defensive postures.  It is a unit of the U.S. Department of Energy and deals mostly with detecting, controlling and deactivating nuclear devices or threats on U.S. Soil.    In the films Broken Arrow and The Peacemaker,  N.E.S.T. is referred to by its older name Nuclear Emergency Search Team, but within the last ten years the name was changed.  The "N.E.S.T." seen in the movie may be a different group with the same acronym (or a fictional upgrade of the existing NEST, being that the Allspark, the Autobots and the Decepticons all emanate at least some levels of radiation).

N.E.S.T. Island Base
One of the main reasons why N.E.S.T, a US run special operations unit would allow British Special Forces into their ranks not only because they are one of the few foreign nations in which the US have had good special operations history with, but because of the island in which N.E.S.T's base is stationed on. The island, which is actually a live US Naval Base called Diego Garcia, was given to the US by the British for lease. Keeping the secret of the Autobots residing on the island from the British would not have lasted long, so in good faith payment I suspect the US government allowed the British to have their own Special Forces teams within N.E.S.T.; which would make sense because in several of the battle scenes it depicts British Special Forces like the SAS involved. In exchange the British would allow the US military to have full operation control of N.E.S.T. and the secret of the Autobots existence to be safe.

The following weapons were used in the film Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen:

SPOILERS.jpg WARNING! THIS PAGE CONTAINS SPOILERS!

Handguns

SIG-Sauer P226

A SIG-Sauer P226 is seen in a Blackhawk tactical holster on CMSgt. Epps’(Tyrese Gibson) vest, though he is never seen using it.

Shotguns

M26 Modular Accessory Shotgun System

During the battle in Egypt, U.S. Marines are briefly seen engaging the Decepticons with an M26 Modular Accessory Shotgun System attatched to their M4A1 Carbines.

A Marine fires at a Decepticon with his M4A1, with the M26 MASS attached. Note how the Marine's M4 lacks a magazine of any kind as he seems to use the magazine well to hold the rifle as some form of grip; most likely due to lack of a proper grip on the M26.
As the Fallen lands in Egypt, the Marine on the left with his M4-mounted M26 MASS, which appears to be a rubber prop due to the C-More sight and front sight being filled out. Before the Fallen's strike, two Marines can be seen carrying M4A1s with M26s.

Rifles

M4A1 Carbine

A Marine fires at a Decepticon with his M4A1 outfitted with an M26 MASS. Note how the Marine's M4 lacks a magazine of any kind, yet the Marine is somehow able to fire multiple rounds out of his rifle at the Decepticons.

Magpul Masada

A NEST soldier is briefly seen using a tan Magpul Masada with a EOTech red dot sight during the Shanghai engagement.

Bushmaster M17S

A number of Bushmaster M17S rifles are seen incorrectly in the hands of Chinese police officers & PLA soldiers in Shanghai, fitted with an unknown red dot scope. These were likely used due to their resemblance to the Chinese-made Norinco QBZ-95 rifle.

Hand Held M134 Minigun

A Hand Held M134 Minigun is seen being used by an unnamed NEST soldier in Shanghai. Movie armorer Steve Karnes had the following to say about the film thread on our discussion forum: "You missed the hand held Dillon M134DT Titanium Minigun with a carbon fiber backpack ammo box with power source. I designed and built the hand hold mount for the Minigun. It's a different set up than the old style used in Terminator 2: Judgment Day. The set up for Transformers 2 is the same one we used in G.I. Joe except it was a standard M134 and not the Titanium model."

Trivia

NEST

There really is a NEST in the U.S. It stands for Nuclear Emergency Support Team (formerly Nuclear Emergency Search Team) and it is not a fighting force but has lots of scientists and bomb disposal experts. NEST usually counts on elite units from the various branches to help it with any fights or defensive postures. It is a unit of the US Department of Energy and deals mostly with detecting, controlling and deactivating nuclear devices or threats on U.S. Soil.

NEST Island Base

SAS

the SAS (Special Air Service) soldiers are seen wearing their sand colored berets in combat, which in real life would not happen. The sand beret is reserved only for ceremonial occasions and parades, and is substituted with either a bush hat (known as a "boonie hat" in the US) or a helmet when in the field, same as with US military headwear regulations.

Railgun

Toward the climax of the movie's final battle, Agent Simmons contacts the US Navy via radio and requests for bombardment firing order of their classified railgun to fire on the Devastator Decepticon climbing on the Great Pyramid of Giza attempting to use the harvester. The railgun is mounted on the USS Kidd. The weapon is mounted in place of its standard MK 45 naval cannon. The establishing shot shows USS Preble instead of Kidd, but Kidd was actually used during production, so it is likely that some of the other scenes are filmed on Kidd.

The railgun gained a somewhat notorious reputation as a pure Deus Ex Machina, being used to conveniently resolve one major conflict with no mention of it beforehand and never being mentioned again afterwards. In reality, railguns are still experimental developments and probably won't be fielded anytime soon.

The railgun prepares to fire.
