The X-Files is set to return in January 2016 with a 6 episode event miniseries that continues from the original television series. The rebooted show is helmed by original creator Chris Carter and will exhibit both standalone 'Monster of the Week'-style stories as well as episodes touching on the previous overarching mythology. As with the first five seasons of the original show as well as the second film, the six-episode event will be filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson, Mitch Pileggi, Annabeth Gish and William B. Davis as well as 'The Lone Gunmen' (Bruce Harwood, Dean Haglund and Tom Braidwood) all return for the miniseries, which will also feature several newcomers, including Joel McHale, Annet Mahendru, Lauren Ambrose and Robbie Amell.
