The Boys is the 2019 streaming adaptation of the graphic novel series of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. The series takes place in a world where superheroes embrace the darker side of their massive celebrity and fame and revolves around a group of vigilantes known informally as "The Boys," who set out to take down the corrupt superheroes with no more than blue-collar grit and a willingness to fight dirty. The series was developed by Eric Kripke (Supernatural). Season 1 premiered on Amazon Prime Video on July 26, 2019, an the series was renewed for a second season ahead of the first season's premiere and was released in September of 2020.
A spin-off titled Gen V will be released in 2023.
