Looks like what I saw listed sometime back as "MARLIN MODEL 336 CB 30-30 WIN 24" OCTAGON BARREL" the CB suffix meaning Cowboy model and intended for the Cowboy Action Shooting (CAS) sports/re-enactors.

While my first Marlin was a Model 99G rifle, my second was a Model 55 shotgun. Marlin Firearms made several models of sporting shotguns. I believe John Marlin initially made defensive pistols in the 1870s, then started making lever action rifles and pump shotguns in the 1880s. In WWI Marlin made machineguns for the Allies.
