The Smith & Wesson 539 is a traditional double-action 9x19mm caliber pistol, part of S&W's '2nd Generation' semiauto line. All steel frame and slide version of the alloy framed Smith & Wesson 439 and stainless steel Smith & Wesson 639. Eight shot magazine, 4 inch barrel, blue or nickel finish. Adjustable rear sight with a short production run of a fixed-sight version. The fixed sight version is rare.
