The Smith and Wesson model 4506 is a third generation semi-auto single action/double action pistol chambered in .45 ACP, with an 8 round magazine. It was produced 1988-1999, with several different makes that include different sights, trigger guards and grips. The The modern variant, the 4506-1, comes with a round trigger guard and a blued hammer and trigger, instead of a square trigger guard, and stainlees steel hammer and trigger. The 4506 comes with a ambidextrous safety and decocker,it is a favorite with law enforcement and private citizens alike.
