Ricochet is a 1991 thriller starring Denzel Washington as Nick Styles, a former LAPD cop who became an ambitious city attorney after apprehending a notorious criminal (John Lithgow) in an incident happened to be caught on videotape. Styles then finds his life being secretly taken apart by the criminal after he escapes from prison. The film was directed by Russell Mulcahy (Highlander) and cast included Ice-T and Kevin Pollak.

In the carnival scene which takes place in 1984, LAPD Officer (later Lieutenant and Assistant District Attorney) Nick Styles (Denzel Washington) draws a Smith & Wesson Model 15 .38 revolver on Earl Talbot Blake (John Lithgow), who had just murdered several drug dealers and jumped out a window at Styles' feet.
Colt Official Police
When he thinks his children are threatened, Styles points a Colt Official Police revolver at suspected assailant.
