Though most well known as an Academy-Award winning film director (Gandhi (1982)) Sir Richard Attenborough started as an actor back in the 1950's. He occasionally still appears in front of the camera. He is a British citizen and was knighted many years ago. Therefore the honorific of Sir is actually part of his name (as I understand English law that is).
