WORK IN PROGRESS
+
Operation Flashpoint: Red River is a tactical shooter video game developed and published by Codemasters for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. It is the sequel to the 2009 Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising, and was built on the EGO Engine. The game was released in Europe on April 21, 2011 and later in North America on June 7 in the same year.

Operation Flashpoint: Red River is the sequel to Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising, still revolves around a fictional conflict between the United States Marine Corps and the People's Liberation Army of China. This time, the storyline takes place in the year 2013, where the United States Marine Corps is sent to Tajikistan to deal with a civil war. While fighting against Tajik insurgents, the PLA have arrived and threatening the U.S. to leave the country, but the U.S. refuses and starting to fight against the PLA too.
+
The storyline takes place in Tajikistan in 2013, during a fictional conflict between the United States Marine Corps, Tajik insurgents, and later the People's Liberation Army of China.

Operation Flashpoint: Red River release date is TBA.
+
The game is heavily simplified compared to Dragon Rising but retains some of the tactical elements, for instance, every bullet-firing weapon can Jam when firing, requiring the player to hit the reload key to clear the Jam with a unique animation. (Except for Pistols, which just use the reload animation, Jamming has also been tweaked as picked up enemy weapons have a signifficantly higher chance to Jam without equipping relevant unlocked skills to reduce jamming compared to US weapons.)

A notable addition (not present when using mouse and keyboard controls) is that each weapon now has a "Handling" stat which caps the player's turning speed when a weapon is equipped. Both pistols - the MEU(SOC) and QSZ-92 - are the only firearms that don't slow down the player's turning speed.

Heckler & Koch MP5A4
The Carbine is one of the main weapons the Marines use, attached with: Iron sights, Aimpoint CompM2 red dot sight, Trijicon TA31RCO-A4CP ACOG, EOTech 556 holographic sight, AN/PEQ-2 TPIAL laser sight, SureFire Universal WeaponLight and M203A1 grenade launcher.
+
The MP5A4 is the secondary weapon used by the Grenadier class and can be unlocked for the Scout. The weapon if fitted with a Picatinny rail on the top of the receiver, a SureFire 628 Forend WeaponLight (but for some reason having the flashlight hanging rather than fitted as part of the forend), and a different flash hider, the Scout gets exclusive access to a suppressor for the weapon.

+
Unfortunately, the MP5 and QCQ were nerfed hard compared to Dragon Rising, both weapons have absurd bullet spread even when tap-firing (if not set to Single Shot) that can be compared to shotguns in other video games, the handguns actually have more accuracy compared to them, making them relatively ineffective spray and pray weapons.

The in-game model of the M16A4 seems to have been based on the Canadian C7A1 rifle (cylindrical handguard and the small rails attached to the front sight post) rather than the M16A4 with the KAC M5 RAS handguard.

Izhmash AK-47
Only few marines use the M16A4 rifle, attached with: Iron sights, Aimpoint CompM2 red dot sight, Trijicon TA31RCO-A4CP ACOG and SureFire Universal WeaponLight. It seems to be that the M16A4 only uses standard M16A2 handguards and not rails. Also, the in-game model looks more or less like the Canadian Colt Canada C7A1...
+
The AK-47 is confirmed by the official website to be the primary assault rifle of the Tajikistani insurgents, a scoped version called the "AK47M" equipped with a PSO-1 scope is used by insurgent snipers.

The Barrett M107 is one of the available sniper rifles in-game used by the United States Marine Corps. The rifle is called "Model M107 SN" in-game. Release Date: 2011

Series: Operation Flashpoint
Platforms: PC

Xbox 360
Genre: Tactical Shooter

Operation Flashpoint: Red River is a tactical shooter video game developed and published by Codemasters for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. It is the sequel to the 2009 Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising, and was built on the EGO Engine. The game was released in Europe on April 21, 2011 and later in North America on June 7 in the same year.

The storyline takes place in Tajikistan in 2013, during a fictional conflict between the United States Marine Corps, Tajik insurgents, and later the People's Liberation Army of China.

The following weapons appear in the video game Operation Flashpoint: Red River:

Handguns

A notable addition (not present when using mouse and keyboard controls) is that each weapon now has a "Handling" stat which caps the player's turning speed when a weapon is equipped. Both pistols - the MEU(SOC) and QSZ-92 - are the only firearms that don't slow down the player's turning speed.

MEU(SOC)

The MEU(SOC) is the main sidearm of the USMC. The MEU(SOC) is used by the Rifleman, Auto Rifleman (Machine Gunner) and Scout (Sniper) classes and can be unlocked for the Grenadier class.

QSZ-92

Submachine Guns

Heckler & Koch MP5A4

The MP5A4 is the secondary weapon used by the Grenadier class and can be unlocked for the Scout. The weapon if fitted with a Picatinny rail on the top of the receiver, a SureFire 628 Forend WeaponLight (but for some reason having the flashlight hanging rather than fitted as part of the forend), and a different flash hider, the Scout gets exclusive access to a suppressor for the weapon.

Optionally, it can be fitted with an Aimpoint CompM2 red dot, Trijicon TA31RCO ACOG scope, EOTech EOLAD 551 holographic sight, and M203A1 grenade launcher.

The in-game model of the M16A4 seems to have been based on the Canadian C7A1 rifle (cylindrical handguard and the small rails attached to the front sight post) rather than the M16A4 with the KAC M5 RAS handguard.

Barrett M107

The Barrett M107 is one of the available sniper rifles in-game used by the United States Marine Corps. The rifle is called "Model M107 SN" in-game. Launchers

Red River continues the depiction of the heavyweight nature of rocket/missile launchers that was first introduced in Dragon Rising; as most of them (barring the Stinger) lay the launcher or its control units to the ground during the deploy and reload animations.

Both underbarrel grenade launchers incorrectly eject unspent casings when reloading.

Mk 153 SMAW

The Mk 153 SMAW appears as the standard anti-tank weapon of the USMC and it is exclusively used by players (as there is no command for the AI teammates to pick them up).

It is not available from the loadout menu and must be found from mid-mission weapon crates.
