NYPD Blue (1993-2005)

NYPD Blue was a television police drama that aired on ABC for 12 seasons from 1993-2005. The show, which focused on a squad of NYPD detectives, was produced by Steven Bochco (Hill Street Blues) and was controversial for the frank language and nudity that was unprecedented for a weekly network series. Over its 12 seasons, the series' cast included Dennis Franz, David Caruso, Jimmy Smits, Nicholas Turturro, and Kim Delaney.

The following weapons were used in the television series NYPD Blue:

Glock 17

The Glock 17 is the main sidearm of nearly all of the series' NYPD detectives including Det. Bobby Simone (Jimmy Smits), Det. James Martinez (Nicholas Turturro), Det. John Clark, Jr. (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) and Det. Danny Sorenson (Rick Schroder). This is a relatively minor mistake, as the only Glocks authorized by the NYPD are the Glock 19 and Glock 26 9mm for back-up and off duty use.

Glock 17 Second Generation- 9x19mm.
Det. Bobby Simone (Jimmy Smits) draws his Glock in Season 2's "Innuendo".
Det. James Martinez (Nicholas Turturro) draws his Glock in Season 3's "E.R.".

Smith & Wesson Model 36

The Smith & Wesson Model 36 is the sidearm carried by Sergeant of Detectives Andy Sipowicz (Dennis Franz), Detective Greg Medavoy (Gordon Clapp) and Detective John Kelly (David Caruso).
