The M1923 is an Italian semi-auto service pistol, manufactured by the famous Fabrica d'Armi Pietro Beretta company. It was designed as an improved version of the M1915/19 and chambered for the 9mm Glisenti round. Unlike previous Beretta pistols, the M1923 has an external hammer. The official Italian designation for the pistol was Beretta Brevetto 1915-1919 Modello 1923 (Pattern 1915-1919 Model 1923). It was used by the Italian military from 1923 until 1945. Outside of Italy, the Beretta M1923 was used in Bulgaria and Argentina.
