The 3.7 cm FlaK 18/36/37/43 (3.7 cm Flugabwehrkanone 18/36/37/43) was a 37mm anti-aircraft gun used in World War 2 by the German armed forces.
3.7 cm FlaK 18 - First variant from 1935. The number 18 suggests a 1918 production to avoid the Treaty of Versailles.
3.7 cm FlaK 36 - Second variant from 1936. Weight has been reduced. Increased the rate of fire from 80 to 120 rounds per minute.
3.7 cm FlaK 37 - Third variant from 1937. The aiming system has been modernized.
3.7 cm FlaK 43 - Fourth variant from 1943. Weight has been reduced. Increased the rate of fire from 120 to 180 rounds per minute. Vertical fire angle increased from 85° to 90°.

The 3.7 cm FlaK M42 was the marine version of the 3.7 cm FlaK 36/37 and was used by the Kriegsmarine on surface ships and as the M42U on Type VII and Type IX U-boats. The 3.7 cm FlaK M42U used several types of mounts and entered service in autumn of 1943.
