Return of the Obra Dinn is a 2018 adventure-detective game developed by indie developer Lucas Pope and published by his company 3909 LLC. The game follows the titular Obra Dinn, a British trade ship that set out for the Orient in 1802 with 60 passengers aboard. After mysteriously disappearing at sea, the Obra Dinn resurfaces at the coast of England 5 years later in 1807. The player plays as an East India Company investigator tasked with identifying and determining what happened to all of the ship's passengers, using a supernatural pocket watch known as the Memento Mortem that can recreate the scene of any living being's death. The game was released to critical acclaim, and won multiple awards.
