The Marine (2006)

The Marine is a 2006 action film featuring WWE star John Cena as the title character, who uses his special skills to rescue his wife, who has been kidnapped by ruthless bank robbers. Two direct to video sequels that also starred WWE wrestlers would follow, 2009's The Marine 2 (featuring Ted DiBiase Jr.) and 2013's The Marine 3: Homefront (featuring Mike "The Miz" Mizanin).

The following weapons were used in the film The Marine:

M16 (SP1)

John Triton (John Cena) uses an M16 (SP1) rifle fitted with a Cobray 37mm Launcher to dispatch Al Qaeda torturing US Marines during the opening scene in the film. The gun is fitted with an A1-stlye birdcage muzzle break, which gives a large and impressive "star pattern" muzzle flash. The original slab-side M16 was never fielded with the US Marines, so how or why he is using this old gun is not known.

Schwarzenegger wannabe. No real Marine would ever fire his rifle like this.

A good shot of the rifle as Triton reloads his launcher.

Cobray CM203 Launcher

Attached to John Triton's (John Cena) M16 (SP1) rifle is a Cobray CM203 Flare Launcher, standing in for M203 grenade launcher. Unlike a real grenade launcher, it is shown capable of detonation at very close ranges, which is not possible with real grenade rounds do to a safety feature based on how many times the round spins in flight. Also, the explosion of the round is depicted as a huge fireball which engulfs the bad guys, another piece of film fiction.

Triton takes cover from the hail of gun fire and a good shot of the CM203 launcher is seen.
Triton reloads his CM203 before opting to "go through" the huge firefight as opposed to around it.

Norinco Type 56

The Al Qaeda members torturing U.S. Marines during the opening scene are mainly armed with Norinco Type 56 rifles, fitted with underfolding 'pig-sticker' bayonets and AKM-style muzzle brakes.

Custom Norinco MAK-90

Norinco MAK-90 - 7.62x39mm.

At least one of the Al Qaeda is seen using a custom built Norinco MAK-90 with a homemade folding stock and a Galil receiver cover.

How do you know it's a MAK-90? If it doesn't have the thumbhole stock, then a clear shot of the front sight would help. The MAK-90s were forced to grind down the bottoms of the front sight to not allow attachment of the cleaning rod (Don't ask me what the bizarre rationale by ATF was for that piece of regulation). MPM2008 If it's not a MAK-90 then it's a Type 56 or Norinco AK customized.

RPD Light Machine Gun

One of the Al Qaeda shooting at a US chopper is using an RPD Light Machine Gun during the opening scene.

Unknown RPK Variant

One of the Al Qaeda shooting at a US chopper is using an unknown RPK variant. A US Marine is also seen using one taken off a dead Al Queda as he escapes with John Triton (John Cena). It appears to be a Valmet M78 based on the receiver but the muzzle is hard to see.

It is one of those hard to find Norinco RPK Clones that were sold in the 1980s. Either an NMD-86 or the AK Match. Or it is a modified NHM-91 long barrel. I will try to find a pic. MoviePropMaster2008 19:46, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

The Marine to the right holds a liberated RPK variant with a 75 round drum. Note "clubfoot" stock. Also note the ridiculous getup Cena is wearing, which is definitely not standard issue to Marines.
The Al Qaeda to the left fires his RPK.

Unknown Pistol

During the opening scene, John Triton (John Cena) uses an unknown pistol to shoot several Al Qaeda members. The gun is never shown in focus but if it is true to real Marine issue, he would be using a Beretta 92FS, military designation "M9". Even so, it also looks a bit like an M1911A1.

Triton fires his pistol.
An Al Qaeda (right) is also seen with an unknown pistol, which is out of focus but looks like either a Tokarev TT-33 or a Beretta 92FS. It also bears resemblance to a Browning BDM.
He is Force Recon, those guys don't use the Beretta they carry M1911's. So it is right if it's a 1911.
While it would be correct, his uniform and rifle aren't correct, so why should we trust that his sidearm is? - Gunmaster45
It looks like a 1911 to me though. the barrel diameter is huge and it just has the shape to it. -The Winchester

GE M134 Minigun (Acetylene Gas Firing)

The helicopter during the opening scene fires off a chin-mounted GE M134 Minigun during the opening scene, which is actually firing Acetylene gas to fake fire. This footage is taken from the film Rambo III (when Col. Trautman (Richard Crenna) is captured), and the helicopter is a Aérospatiale Puma mocked up as a Russian MIL Mi-24 Hind. The Minigun is standing in for the YakB 12.7mm which is typically mounted on real Hinds.

Jericho 941 F

Rome (Robert Patrick) carries a brushed chrome Jericho 941F (meaning his has a frame mounted safety) as his sidearm in the film, chambered in .45 ACP.

Note how "Jericho 941 F" can be read on the frame.
Rome fires his Jericho 941 F at a police Camaro at the gas station.
The ejected casing clearly reads ".45mm" which is woefully incorrect. 45/100 of a millimeter is extremely small (in fact .45mm equates to 0.019685 of an inch - a diameter slightly smaller than most common hypodermic needles). Rome's Jericho fires .45 caliber rounds, which are actually measured as 45/100 of an inch in diameter. It is not a metric measurement. This is largely academic however, as the pistol used is a full size Jericho, and only the semi-compact variants were available chambered in .45 ACP.
"You are one crazy son of a bitch!" Rome holds his Jericho on Morgan (Anthony Ray Parker).
A good side shot of the Jericho.

Taurus PT99

Angela (Abigail Bianca) is given an older model stainless Taurus PT99 by Rome (Robert Patrick), who takes it off a guard during the first robbery and carries it as her sidearm in the film.

Note how the magazine is falling out here.
Angela points her PT99 at Kate Triton (Kelly Carlson).
Angela draws her PT99 hidden in the small of her back before killing a truck driver. In this shot, we can see that her PT99 is fitted with Hogue grips.

Taurus PT92 AFS

Bennett (Manu Bennett) carries a pair of stainless Taurus PT92 AFS pistols during the robbery and continues to carry a single PT92-AFS for the rest of the film.

Beretta 92SB

Do to continuity error, Bennett's (Manu Bennett) Taurus PT92 changes into a nickel plated Beretta 92SB when he looks for Morgan (Anthony Ray Parker) under the fishing hut.

Beretta 92SB - 9mm.
Bennett walks out and a nickel plated Beretta 92SB is seen tucked in his pants. Note the slide mounted decocking safety, as opposed to the frame mounted slide stop safety of his Taurus.
Bennett draws his 92SB.
Note rounded trigger guard.
This shows that the safety is ambidextrous.

Beretta 92FS

A South Carolina Police officer hunting down Rome (Robert Patrick) and his gang holds his Beretta 92FS on John Triton (John Cena) when he finds him in the woods. After Triton turns his handcuffs on himself with his Marine-style hand-to-hand, he takes the officers Beretta from him, but never uses it.

Colt Model 733

Rome (Robert Patrick) takes a Colt Model 733 carbine from the back of his car during the robbery and uses it to hose down a police car before the car is destroyed by Morgan's (Anthony Ray Parker) rocket launcher. Later, Bennett (Manu Bennett) uses the same gun to shoot at Triton (John Cena) as he pursues them in a police Camaro.

Bennett fires the Colt 733 at Triton.
Another shot of this scene. Note how the rifle is shooting pretty much dead on to Triton.
Bennett does a mag change.
Bennett chambers the 733. Note how the round seen in the ejection port is a dummy round, which is uprising since most people don't bother to use dummy rounds when the shot is literally under a second long.
Bennett fires the 733.

Armbrust ATW

Morgan (Anthony Ray Parker) uses an "Israeli Shoulder Fired Single Shot Rocket Launcher" (in reality a German Armbrust ATW) to blow up a police cruiser once Rome's (Robert Patrick) Colt Model 733 proves ineffective. The Armbrust is manufactured by Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm and licensed to Singapore. It is a lightweight 67mm Single shot rocket system (just like the American M72 LAW) except that it is one of the few weapons of that type that is safe to fire from within an enclosed space.

Morgan takes out the Armbrust from the car.
Morgan aims the Armbrust launcher.
Morgan stares at what's left of the police car he just blew up, still holding the Armbrust.

Smith & Wesson Model 14

The two cops at the gas station carry Smith & Wesson Model 14 revolvers, even though the rest of the state police carry Beretta 92FS pistols. After John Triton's (John Cena) wife Kate (Kelly Carlson) is kidnapped by Rome's (Robert Patrick) gang, he takes an officer's Model 14 and a speed loader and begins the chase. Unfortunately the gun is knocked from his hand before he can reload and is thus never used.

Smith & Wesson Model 14 - .38spl.
An officer's revolver is seen in his holster as he walks up to the gas pump, with target grips. It is unconfirmed if this is the same revolver used by his partner.
The officer draws his Smith & Wesson Model 14 after his partner is shot by Morgan.
The officer fires his Model 14 at Rome through the windshield of his Camaro.
Triton takes a speedloader off the wounded officer before going after Rome and his gang.
Triton picks up the Model 14 off the seat.
Triton attempts to reload the Model 14. Note how there are no empty shells in the gun, yet the officer fired it empty before and Triton never dumped the casings out.
Triton drops the gun when his car is rammed.

Ruger KP95

Morgan (Anthony Ray Parker) carries a Ruger P95 as his sidearm in the film.

Morgan ignites gasoline at the station by shooting his Ruger at the puddle. Since bullets don't spark on concrete, this seems highly unlikely.
Morgan points his Ruger at Vescera (Damon Gibson).

Heckler & Koch P7M13

When Morgan (Anthony Ray Parker) is in the chop-shop looking for a good getaway car, a guard doing a pat-down discovers a pistol on him, which appears to be a Heckler & Koch P7M13.

Heckler & Koch USP-9

Agent Van Buren (Jerome Ehlers) carries a Heckler & Koch USP-9 as his sidearm in the film.

Van Buren points his USP-9 at Triton once again. He isn't revealed as a bad guy yet, but doesn't two instances of seeing a guy's gun in your face hint it at all?
Van Buren points his USP-9 at Rome in the fishing shack.
Now we see he's a bad guy.

IMI Uzi

Morgan (Anthony Ray Parker) uses an IMI Uzi to shoot at Triton (John Cena) during the car chase scene.

Remington 870 custom

Billy (Jeff Chase), a hick in the woods, holds a Remington 870 shotgun with an old style USMC heatshield and bayonet lug adapter and sawed off buttstock, on Triton (John Cena) when he accuses him of being a cop. It resembles the shotgun used by Denzel Washington in Training Day, Arnold Schwarzenegger in Commando and Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Woody Harrelson in Natural Born Killers and a random thug in Desperado.
