Work In Progress

This article is still under construction. It may contain factual errors. See Talk:Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny for current discussions. Content is subject to change.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is the fifth and perhaps the last installment in the Indiana Jones feature film series. Harrison Ford returns for perhaps his final time in the 2023 film as the iconic archaeologist, who, at the end of the 1960s, is reunited with his goddaughter Helena (Phoebe Waller-Bridge) as they attempt to prevent a scientist from Indy's past (Mads Mikkelsen) from retrieving an artifact that could tear the very fabric of time. Dial of Destiny also was the first time in the series that Steven Spielberg did not return as director, as James Mangold took the reins, and the cast includes Boyd Holbrook (whom Mangold directed in the feature film Logan), Toby Jones, and Antonio Banderas, in addition to John Rhys-Davies, who returns as Sallah. The film was released to theaters in June of 2023. This also appears to be the first Indiana Jones movie in which Indy doesn't appear to use or even carry his signature Smith & Wesson or Webley revolver.

The following weapons were used in the film Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny:

SPOILERS.jpg WARNING! THIS PAGE CONTAINS SPOILERS!

Handguns

Luger P08

The Luger P08 is used by German officers during World War II, including Colonel Weber (Thomas Kretschmann). This pistol is also used by Basil Shaw (Toby Jones).

M1911A1

Disguised CIA men are seen pointing M1911A1s at Indy (Harrison Ford). Voller (Mads Mikkelsen) also uses one on the helicopter. After it gets knocked from his hand, Klaber (Boyd Holbrook) grabs it.

Walther P38

The Walther P38 is carried by German officers in the film's beginning during the flashback to 1944. In 1969, the P38 is also used by Klaber (Boyd Holbrook). Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) is also seen using it during the climax.

Walther P38K

Klaber (Boyd Holbrook) uses a suppressed Walther P38K to eliminate a target.

Walther PPK

Jürgen Voller (Mads Mikkelsen) carries a Walther PPK as his personal weapon in 1969. Indy Harrison Ford uses the pistol to dispatch a Nazi hanging from the German bomber in 212 BC.

Submachine Guns

Ingram MAC-11

Hauke (Olivier Richters), the huge German henchman protecting Voller in 1969, carries an Ingram MAC-11 fitted with a 10-round magazine and briefly uses it, including once with a suppressor attached. He first appears in the film cleaning the weapon's barrel. The thug only uses his MAC-11 in semi-automatic mode. As the film takes place in 1969, the appearance of a MAC-11 is anachronistic due to it being produced from 1972.

MP 40

The MP 40 is used by both German troops at the film's beginning. It is to be noted that the MP 40 is among the weapons Jürgen Voller (Mads Mikkelsen) and his Nazi-dressed henchmen bring onto a plane while preparing to time travel to 1939, creating a potential anachronism by about a year.

PPSh-41

The PPSh-41 is briefly wielded by Hauke (Olivier Richters) during the chase in Tangier.

Rifles

Colt M4A1 (mocked up XM177)

U.S. soldiers recovering Voller in Tangier are seen carrying extremely anachronistic M4A1 carbines modified to resemble the more period appropriate XM177/CAR-15 by simply adding in fake XM177-style flash hiders. The modified M4A1 carbines are clearly fitted with detachable carry handles which is extremely anachronistic for the film's 1969 setting.

Karabiner 98k
