Emden Men (Die Männer der Emden) or also titled as Odyssey of Heroes is a 2012 German movie directed by Berengar Pfahl. During the First World War, the German navy light cruiser S.M.S. Emden is sunk by the Australian HMAS Sydney in the Indian Ocean. The 50-man crew can save themselves and now has to go on a long and exhausting journey: 13,000 kilometers through water and desert lie ahead of them. The troupe is led by Lieutenant Hellmuth von Mücke (Sebastian Blomberg). It's a homage to the 1932 German movie Cruiser Emden.
The following weapons were used in the film Emden Men:
Handguns
Luger P08
All senior officers of the Emden including Karl Overbeck (Ken Duken), Hellmuth von Mücke (Sebastian Blomberg) and Friedrich von Schulau (Jan Henrik Stahlberg) use Luger P08s as their sidearms.
Luger Marine Model
Maat (Petty Officer) Kluthe (Oliver Korittke) is armed with a longer barreled Marine Luger P08.
Rhöner SM 15
Antonia (Sheri Hagen) tries to reach an anachronistic Rhöner SM 15. Karl Overbeck (Ken Duken) stops her and takes the pocket pistol.
Rifles
Mauser Gewehr 1888/05
Matrose (Sailor) Hilgert (Michael Lott) and other sailors use Mauser Gewehr 1888/05 rifles. Maat Kluthe is seen briefly carrying one during the firefight in the desert.
Mauser Gewehr 1898
The majority of the sailors including von Mücke (Sebastian Blomberg) and Karl Overbecks (Ken Duken) use Mauser Gewehr 1898. Salima Bey (Sibell Kekilli) is seen firing a Gewehr as the Caravan is surrounded by Bedouins.
Lee-Enfield No. I Mk III*
British sailors and some radiomen can be seen briefly with Lee-Enfield No. I Mk III* rifles.
Enfield M1917
French troops at the railway station armed with M1917 Enfields over their shoulders. This appearance is an anachronism because the story takes place in 1914/1915.
Unknown Rifles
Machine Guns
Maxim MG08
The Maschinengewehr 08 is also seen in some scenes.
Grenades
Jam Tin Grenade
German sailors destroy the radar station on Cocos Islands with Jam Tin Grenades.
