While it has never been generally received well, the film series currently spans 12 movies (including a 2009 reboot and a 2003 crossover film where Jason battled fellow horror film icon Freddy Krueger of A Nightmare on Elm Street) and one television series (though the series was related in title only and did not feature Jason). The series also is considered one of the most successful media franchises in North America. (Note: Since 1981's Friday the 13th Part 2 only has one holstered firearm seen in the film, it will not have its own page.)
