Blazing Saddles (1974)

The following weapons were used in the film Blazing Saddles:

Single Action Army

As with most westerns, near everyone in the film carries a Single Action Army revolver. Sheriff Bart (Cleavon Little) carries a 5 1/2" Artillery with a nickel finish and pearl grips, while Jim (Gene Wilder) carries a pair of nickel plated 7 1/2" Cavalry revolvers.

Colt Single Action Army 5 1/2" Artillery - .45 Long Colt.
Taggart (Slim Pickens) with a 4 3/4" Quickdraw Single Action Army with a nickel finish.
Olson Johnson (David Huddleston) and Howard Johnson (John Hillerman of Magnum P.I. fame) point their Single Action Armies (4 3/4" barrel) at Bart, the new town Sheriff.
A citizen readies his Single Action Army 4 3/4" as Bart stands at the podium.
Olson Johnson (David Huddleston) holds his SAA as Bart holds his own SAA 5 1/2" on himself to fool the dumb townspeople into dropping their weapons.
"Oh baby, you are so talented! And they are so dumb!"
Taggart's men level their SAAs 4 3/4" on Bart.
A good shot of Bart's SAA in its holster.
Jim aims his SAA 7 1/2" Cavalry at the dynamite in the town, about a good mile away!

Winchester 1892 Saddle Ring Carbine

Despite being anachronistic (although it doesn't really matter in this film, since at one point it jumps from 1874 to 1974), some of the townspeople are seen loading up Winchester 1892 Saddle Ring Carbines when Bart (Cleavon Little) introduces himself as the new Sheriff. Several are also seen in the gun rack at the Sheriff's Department.

Winchester 1892 - .38-40 WCF.
A townsmember chambers his Winchester 1892 Saddle Ring Carbine.
Several Winchester 1892s are seen in the Sheriff's Department gun rack.

12 Gauge Double Barreled Shotgun

Some of Taggart's (Slim Pickens) men are seen using 12 Gauge Double Barreled Shotguns with exposed hammers.

Charles Parker 1878 Shotgun - 12 Gauge.
A thug behind Lyle (Burton Gilliam) holds a Double Barreled Shotgun.
Sideview of same.
A guard stands at the gallows armed with a Double Barreled Shotgun.

Springfield 1903 Prop Gun

The dancers during Lili Von Schtupp's (Madeline Kahn) performance fire prop firing Springfield 1903 rifles into the air. Later on, German WWII soldiers are also seen with them, which is factually incorrect enough to not require comment.

Springfield 1903 - .30-06.
Lili's dancers with prop Springfield 1903 rifles.
Better sideshots of the rifles.
German soldiers holding Springfield 1903 prop rifles.
Lili and the German soldiers sing around a fire.

Trapdoor Springfield 1873

Two Civil War soldiers in the "bad guy" lineup have Trapdoor Springfield 1873 rifles.

Trapdoor Springfield 1873 - .45-70.
A brief shot of a Civil War soldier to the far left holding a Trapdoor Springfield.
A better shot of one of the Trapdoor Springfields.

Remington 1866 Derringer

Hedley Lamarr (Harvey Korman) carries a nickel plated Remington 1866 Derringer as his sidearm in the film.

Remington 1866 Derringer - .41 caliber.
Hedley Lamarr shoots a bad guy for chewing gum in line.
Hedley fires his Remington 1866 Derringer into the air. He fires two shots but somehow has a third to shoot Taggart in the foot.

Flintlock Musket

Two Arabian "bad guys" are seen holding Afghan-style Flintlock Musket while waiting in line.

Blazing Saddles Television Pilot "Black Bart"

The following guns were used in the failed TV show spin-off of the film:

Remington 1875 (mock-up)

Sheriff Bart (Louis Gossett Jr.) carries a Remington 1875 visually mocked up to resemble an older and cheaper Remington 1858 New Army.

Remington 1875 - .45 Long Colt.
Remington 1858 New Army - .44 Caliber.
Bart holds his mocked up Remington 1875 on the salesman.
Here you can see the ejector rod is on the right side, unlike a Single Action Army, which has it on the left.
Note the fake cylinder rod you typically see on a Remington 1858.

Single Action Army

Sheriff Bart (Louis Gossett Jr.) tries out a gun salesman's 4 3/4" Quickdraw Single Action Army with a nickel finish and pearl grips throughout the episode. At the end, Howard Johnson claims he bought the gun but is trick by Bart into trading it for his piece of junk "pig gun". Jim carries two blued 5 1/2" Artillery Single Action Armies as well. The bad guy in the episode also carries a 7 1/2" Cavalry version.

Colt Single Action Army 4 3/4" Quick Draw - .45 Long Colt.
The salesman shows Bart his Single Action Army.
The bad guy forces bar patrons to dance.
Bart holds his SAA on the bad guy.
Jim shows off his spinning talents with his two Artillery SAAs.
Jim quickdraws his SAA and lights a man's match with it.
The bad guy aims his Cavalry SAA at the protagonists.
Howard Johnson shows Bart the SAA he wanted before Bart tricks him into trading it.

Winchester 1892

Several Winchester 1892 rifles are seen on the gun rack in the Sheriff's Department. The bad guy and his men are also seen firing them at the protagonists in the woods.

Winchester 1892 - .38-40 WCF.
Several Winchester 1892s on the rack in the Sheriff's Department.
The bad guy and his men fire Winchester 1892s at Bart.

Remington 1866 Derringer

Remington 1866 Derringer - .44 caliber.
Lili holds up the bad guys with her Remington 1866 Derringer.

12 Gauge Double Barreled Shotgun

A candy store owner holds up a thieving little boy with a 12 Gauge Double Barreled Shotgun before Sheriff Bart (Louis Gossett Jr.) intervenes.

Charles Parker 1878 Shotgun - 12 Gauge.
The candy store owner holds up a little boy with his shotgun.
Bart sticks a pastry on the muzzle of the shotgun.
