F44AA Pulse Rifle
Weapons predating the Colonial Marine Corps' M41A Pulse Rifle are called the F44AA Pulse Rifle, that are found by Andy (David Jonnson) on the Renaissance space station and are the main weapons that a few characters including Rain Carradine (Cailee Spaeny) who wields and uses throughout the film. In the film, it features a rotating breech electronic pulse action that is used by the United States Colonial Marine Corps and the designation model stands for 'Aiming Assist(ance)', which features a shoulder to arm brace that automatically adjusts onto the user to provide stabilized firing.
Just like the Pulse Rifles that would be introduced later in Aliens, the weapon itself was constructed from an M1A1 Thompson submachine gun fitted with a TDI Vector style lower housing for the magazine with a bridge connecting the bottom of the pistol grip to the lower receiver, a futuristic shell housing with a carrying handle sight over the top reciever and barrel, underbarrel flashlight in the handguard, buttstock with automated stablising brace when unfolded, target aiming assist computer to lock on targets (when the trigger is depressed half way), LED ammunition round count done by bars instead of numbers, slings, all painted white with a red stripe mark next to the barrel area (possibly as a safety marking of where not to place your hand over) and the magwell featuring the Weyland-Yutani logo. Both rifles (Unit 04 and Unit 05) are numbered in double digit numbers, implying these Pulse Rifles are prototype production units.
