Grew up in California, active in rock climbing, hunting, martial arts. My business career spans four decades of work in energy, investment banking, technology, and the private military contracting business. Much of my early years were spent in Africa, and I have made a life-long study of its history and political problems. I recently wrote a novel, entitled Feral, that reaches back to my first involvement in Africa as a PMC, and which also describes how there might be a way forward for the people of this beautiful continent that will enable them to finally escape the lingering impact of their colonial past.
