My name is Melissa Summers, im an avid shooter, and collector and part time gunsmith.
Ive been shooting since i was young. I started at around 10 with a 22 Rifle that belonged to my grandfather and the rest is history. Ive been shooting and collecting firearms since i was legally able to.
My current collection includes an Ed Brown Kobra Carry and other 1911s.
The 1911 is by far my favourite handgun and one that i trust my life to everyday.
I gotta add it here, cause its driving me nuts, i just watched the show "Triggers" on the Military Channel. They cover various weapons throughout history, This particular episode was about the Colt 1911. There were quite a few small mistakes that bothered me for a show thats supposed to deal with weapons. The first was, the animated model they used to represent the Colt Single Action Army, was CLEARLY a Colt Walker. As well he refered to the Colt Paterson as a double action pistol, which it very obviously isnt.
