Talk:The Phantom
It seems to me that the machine gun on the seaplane looks more like infantry Lewis Gun without the magazine. Greg-Z (talk) 10:56, 12 October 2012 (EDT)That's a fact! How would on the British aircraft took a German machine gun? Thanks Greg.--Pandolfini (talk) 12:09, 12 October 2012 (EDT)
AMT Hardballers
I'm not sure about this, but aren't all AMTs stainless steel? --Funkychinaman (talk) 16:41, 12 October 2012 (EDT) Yes, it´s right. Given that needed mimicry (no glittering) in the jungle, was his gun tinted to "carbon black".--Pandolfini (talk) 18:20, 12 October 2012 (EDT)
- Is that speculation or is that what happened in the film? If that's what happened in the film, you should mention that on the page. --Funkychinaman (talk) 19:15, 12 October 2012 (EDT)It is my logical deduction. He carries everything, except the ring, "carbon black" - metal decorations on his belt, also uses only dark clothing (Phantom).--Pandolfini (talk) 20:36, 12 October 2012 (EDT)
- Yes, but blued longslide M1911s DO exist. It's more likely that these are one of those. --Funkychinaman (talk) 02:44, 13 October 2012 (EDT)I know, before I wrote this idea, I searched in Google a "dark" version of the weapon and I found a mention of the method tmavení stainless steel surface. It would also be foolish, if he was hiden in the jungle or camouflaged in a dark cave not to see him reveal a glittering decorations on the belt or two shiny pistol in his hands :)--Pandolfini (talk) 03:08, 13 October 2012 (EDT)
- I can't tell, are you agreeing with me that they can't be AMTs? --Funkychinaman (talk) 13:08, 14 October 2012 (EDT)

Well, if they are Hardballers, then they'd be quite anachronistic. The movie is set in 1938, while the Hardballer wasn't produced until 1977. I'm surprised this hadn't been mentioned yet. Spartan198 (talk) 09:33, 22 December 2014 (EST)
Reichsrevolver Model 1883
This type of weapon is a service revolver German Imperial Army. Was used by the various adventurers and mercenaries until World War II. In the army she replacing the famous Luger P08, which used in the film Catherine Zeta-Jones.
In the collage below shows a type of Erfurt in 1894 compared with a revolver in hand of the actor from the movie and it is identical or very similar type of the same weapon.
And again about the pistols
I examined the new high quality screenshots and now I can say with sure: Phantom's signature pistols are not Hardballers. They are custom long slide M1911A1s. The first screenshot shows the grip with arched mainspring housing, a typical 1911A1 shape. This is an iron proof as Hardballer has a flat mainspring housing. Greg-Z (talk) 14:21, 21 August 2015 (EDT)
- This does look flat to me. I think it's an optical illusion. --Funkychinaman (talk) 14:23, 21 August 2015 (EDT)
