Blue Murder is an Australian police television miniseries set in the 1970s and 1980s in Sydney that focused on the relationship between controversial former detective Roger Rogerson and notorious criminal Arthur "Neddy" Smith.
The following firearms were used in the miniseries Blue Murder:
Colt M1911A1
Smith & Wesson Model 10
The Smith & Wesson Model 10 is carried throughout the series by both uniformed and plain clothes police owing to it being the issued service firearm at the time. Used extensively by 'Roger the Dodger Rogerson' including during the shooting of Warren Lanfranchi.
Smith & Wesson Model 19
A Smith & Wesson Model 19 is used by 'Christopher Dale Flannery', aka Mr Rent-A-Kill (Gary Sweet).
Remington 870 Fieldgun
The Remington 870 is used by police including 'Roger Rogerson' in numerous arrest scene it is also carried by tactical officers (SWOS) during the final climatic raid. One is also used by 'Christopher Dale Flannery', aka Mr Rent-A-Kill after a drive-by-shooting takes place t his house.
L1A1
Wood furniture versions of the L1A1 SLR are seen in the series. As it is an Australian production they are likely Lithgow made.
MP40
Numerous firearms are tested at an illegal firing range including an MP40 submachine gun used by Roger Rogerson (Richard Roxburgh).
M16 / SP1
Numerous firearms are tested at an illegal firing range including an automatic M16 rifle used by Arthur "Neddy" Smith (Tony Martin).
