Red Bells
|
Red Bells (original title: Красные колокола, Фильм первый - Мексика в огне; Krasnye kolokola, film pervyy - Meksika v ogne; "Red Bells Part I: Mexico on Fire", also released as as "Messico in fiamme" in Italy and "Campanas rojas" in Mexico) is a 1982 Soviet-Italian-Mexican adventure-drama movie directed by Sergei Bondarchuk starring Franco Nero and Ursula Andress. It is the first of a two-parts film series centered on the life and career of John Reed, a revolutionary communist journalist known for his documentation of the Mexican and Russian Revolutions. It was followed by Red Bells II.
The following weapons were used in the film Red Bells:
Revolvers
Colt New Service
The Mexican Federal Army and rebels' officers carry Colt New Service revolvers.
Rifles
M1903 Springfield
Mexican rebels and Huerta's soldiers are mainly armed with M1903 Springfield rifles (which can be identified by the characteristic protective "hump" in front of the rear sights). A large number of rifles were used in the film, but they are mostly seen at a distance.
Mauser Carbine
The Mexican rebels and Huerta's soldiers also carry Mauser carbines. It's probably a Mexican M1910 Carbine model (historically correctly), as the movie was filmed in Mexico.
Marlin Model 1881
One of Mexican rebels is seen with a Marlin Model 1881.
Machine Guns
Hotchkiss M1914 Machine Gun
Huerta's soldiers are equipped with the Hotchkiss M1914.
Cannons
75-mm Saint Chamond-Mondragón field gun
The rebels and soldiers use 75-mm Saint Chamond-Mondragón field guns.
