Planetes (2003-2004)

The following weapons were used in the anime series Planetes:

Pistols

FN Five-seveN

During their attack on the Werner von Braun, the Space Defence Front (SDF) terrorists carry pistols based on an FN Five-seveN fitted with a torch and laser.

Hachimaki reaching for a dropped terrorist pistol.
Hakim discovers his pistol is empty. It vents some sort of gas out of the slide suggesting that these weapons use a different operating mechanism than current day firearms.
Hakim drops his pistol as he is attacked by Hachimaki in "Phase 24: Love".
Hachimaki turns Hakim's own pistol on him.
A closeup of the side of the pistol showing the controls, which match that of the FN Five-seveN apart from the manual safety switch is reversed.

Heckler & Koch Mark 23

The OSA police forces guarding the Werner von Braun are armed with a pistol that is based on the Heckler & Koch Mark 23 with a large extension under the frame containing a laser and flash light and a muzzle compensator. The weapon also appears to be capable of full automatic fire as well.

Assault Rifles

AKS-74U

Several of the El Tanikans at the research facility in "Phase 11: Boundary Line" can be seen using rifles resembling AKS-74Us, with a solid stock fitted and missing the upper handguard.

M16A2s can be seen being used by third world rebels and INTO forces alike in various episodes.
