Kulakov Grenade Launcher
The Kulakov Revolver Grenade Launcher is an experimental Soviet-designed grenade launcher developed by M.M. Kulakov, using the receiver and stock of a Mosin Nagant M91/30. The rifle's original barrel was replaced almost entirely (retaining only the chamber), and in its place a large five-chambered cylinder and a corresponding barrel were installed; the resulting gun functions similarly to a rifle grenade launcher, using 7.62x54mmR blanks to propel specialty 44.15mm grenades, which are loaded in through the front of the cylinder. The launcher also features a large, heavy barrel shroud, a muzzle brake, a modified Degtyaryov DP-27 bipod mounted just behind the cylinder, a pistol grip, and a large, thick recoil pad, with several of these features presumably meant to help tame the no doubt substantial recoil produced upon firing; surviving photos do not appear to show the weapon with any sort of sights, possibly due to its status as a prototype. The Kulakov would ultimately never advance beyond this point, and the original prototype's whereabouts are currently unknown.
