Katran is a 2020 Russian detective TV series. In 1978 Militsiya Maj. Ivan Petrovich Tcherkasov (Andrey Smolyakov) investigates the murder of an Interior Ministry Colonel Potapenko and his mistress, a passionate gambler. The investigation leads to an illegal gambling house, known as "Katran". Sonya Timofeeva gets the mission to infiltrate the gambling house.

Katran is the seventh installment in the TV series about detective Ivan Tcherkasov.

Pistols

Makarov PM (MP-371)

Makarov PM pistols that are widely used throughout the series turn out to be blank-firing MP-371s. They are seen in hands of Militsiya detectives Maj. Ivan Petrovich Tcherkasov (Andrey Smolyakov), Capt. Sonya Timofeeva (Marina Aleksandrova) Sr. Lt. Aleksey Garkusha (Aleksey Bardukov), Igor Stankevich (Aleksandr Borisov), KGB operatives, and also in holster of Ilya (Valeriy Smekalov), the guard in the gambling house.

Rhöner SM 80

Boris Grinevich (Maksim Averin), the musician in Katran, carries a pocket pistol that turns out to be a gas-firing Rhöner SM 80. This pistol is generally similar to Reck pistols, such as Baby and Perfecta but SM 80 has the longer barrel and the different shape of the grip.
