Behind Enemy Lines II: Axis of Evil is a 2006 action film that was released as a direct-to-video sequel to 2001's Behind Enemy Lines. Other than some stock footage from the 2001 film, this 2006 sequel does not have any relation other than the basic plot of US military personnel being stranded in enemy territory. This film encountered enough success to warrant two more films under the Behind Enemy Lines banner: 2009's Behind Enemy Lines: Colombia and 2014's Seal Team 8: Behind Enemy Lines.

Rifles

Arsenal AR

The majority of the rifles used by both US Navy SEALs team and North Korean soldiers, appear to be some sort of variant of the Bulgarian AR-F. Some of these rifles have the hooded sight and some with ultra short barrels.

Arsenal AR-F - 7.62x39mm

2nd Class Petty Officer Corey Schulteiss (Michael Simpson) is armed with one of the AK-type rifles. Because the film was shot primarily in Bulgaria, this is likely a variant of the Arsenal AR.

At the bottom, CWO Lawrence Meideros (Mykel Shannon Jenkins), fires an AK with ultra short barrel.

CWO Lawrence Meideros (Mykel Shannon Jenkins) and Petty Officer Second Class Corey Schulteiss (Michael Simpson) both firing oddly customized Bulgarian AK-47 milled rifles with ultra short barrels as Lt. James (Nicholas Gonzalez) fires his PPS-43 mocked up to look like an MP5.

Arsenal AR-M1F

Seen in the hands of Lieutenant Robert James (Nicholas Gonzalez), Master Chief Petty Officer Neil "Spaz" Callaghan (Matt Bushell), and possibly South Korean special forces soldiers are Bulgarian Arsenal AR-M1F rifles that have AKS-74U-style muzzle brakes in place of their regular flash hiders. They also have milled receivers, underfolding stocks, and AK-74-type gas blocks.

Custom Sniper Rifle

A sniper rifle is used by two South Korean special forces soldiers. These sniper rifles also appear to be Arsenal ARs mocked up to resemble the SVD Dragunov or the Zastava M76 rifle.

Custom Special Ops Rifles

The South Korean spec-ops soldiers also are also armed with some unusual assault rifles. These appear to be Arsenal ARs fitted with an M16-type carry handle and housed in an odd shell. These were probably the precursor to the M16 mockups seen in such films as Universal Soldier: Regeneration.

Submachine Guns

PPS-43 (Mocked-up as MP5)

Since this film was shot in Bulgaria, many of the weapons are of Eastern European origin. The "MP5" used by Lt. Robert James (Nicholas Gonzalez) and in the hands of a few SEAL members near the end of the film is actually a PPS-43 mocked up to resemble the H&K submachine gun. The PPS-43 is chambered in 7.62x25mm Tokarev, which explains why the magazine that is slightly too fat to be an MP5's 9x19mm.

Handguns

M1911A1

A North Korean "Home Guard" officer fires an M1911A1, killing a local peasant woman during a melee with the Navy SEALs. Why he would be carrying an M1911 is a mystery since he would most likely be carrying the North Korean equivalent of the Tokarev TT-33 or CZ-75 clone.

A closer shot of the North Korean Home Guard officer and his M1911A1. His uniform is a light grey version of a Soviet commissar uniform from WWII and is anachronistic. The costuming is utilizing old Bulgarian surplus uniforms (which makes sense since the film was shot in Bulgaria).

Compact Beretta Pistol

What appears to be a small nickel-plated compact pistol is seen in the hands of North Korean Commander Hwang (Joseph Steven Yang). This appears to resemble a compact nickel Beretta 85F, but it is possible that this is a replica like the EKOL "Grizzly Special 99" .

Commander Hwang (Joseph Steven Yang) holds his nickel pistol, a very strange choice for a North Korean officer who should be using a Makarov PM, Tokarev TT-33, Stechkin APS or CZ-75 clone. It's possible that this is a replica pistol.

Beretta 92FS Inox

A Beretta 92FS Inox with black controls can be seen being used by both Lt. James and Master Chief Petty Officer Neil 'Spaz' Callaghan.
