Ashfall (Korean title: 백두산, Paektusan, lit. "Paektu Mountain") is a 2019 South Korean action-disaster film. The film takes place after Mount Paektu, an active volcano on the Chinese-North Korean border suddenly and violently erupts, causing widespread catastrophe across the Korean Peninsula. The film follows a team of Koreans as they race to cross into the North Korean border and detonate a nuclear explosive within the volcano to depressurize it before it erupts again and destroys the entire Korean Peninsula.
