The Thin Red Line is a 1964 WWII film which was the first theatrical adaptation of the James Jones novel. The film focuses on the men of Charlie Company during the Battle of Guadalcanal in the Pacific. Many characters and situations from this film are also included in director Terrence Malick's 1998 adaptation of the novel.
