The Silencers is a 1966 spy comedy directed by Phil Karlson and stars Dean Martin as Matt Helm, a former superspy who comes out of retirement to foil a plot by an evil organization to incite a nuclear war. The film was released at the height of the James Bond phenomena and its success spawned three sequels: Murderers' Row, The Ambushers and The Wrecking Crew.
