The Fable (Japanese title: ザ・ファブル, Za Faburu) is a 2019 action-comedy film based on the 2014-2019 manga series of the same name by Katsuhisa Minami. The film stars Junichi Okada as "The Fable", an exceptionally talented and legendary hitman within the Japanese underworld who is ordered by his superior (Kôichi Satô) to take a break from his work and live a normal civilian life without killing anybody for an entire year, with him facing life-threatening consequences if he is discovered to have killed anyone within the year.
