Someone wanna tell me why we have two pictures of the 'trench gun' configuration of this weapon? Seems rather redundant to me. Orca1 9904 02:21, 6 July 2011 (CDT)

:While I am here, yes it can be slam fired, even the new guns. I also have a question about this gun though. In the description on the main page it lists the 97W as being a clone of the 1893. However I'm not sure this is true, as there is also a Norinco 93W which has the correct open topped 1893 ejection port rather than the 97W which has the 1897 style closed top ejection port. Can anybody shed any light on this? I ask because there is a shotgun in Caprica which is identified as 1897, but has an open topped ejection port and am trying to work out what it would be. I assume it would be a Norinco 93W rather than a genuine 1893, is there any way to tell them apart though? --commando552 (talk) 08:37, 17 January 2014 (EST)

I myself  was unsure about buying a Chinese weapon, but my norinco 97T (the trenchgun version) has been reliable. I've owned  it  for  almost a year it has fired every round I've put in it. My only criticism of it is,the trigger and pump extremely  heavy but other than that its a good weapon.

Norinco Model 97W

Does the Chinese clone have a trigger disconnector, or is it also capable of slam-firing? - User: 2wingo

While I am here, yes it can be slam fired, even the new guns.
