From what I can tell, there are three distinct versions of the gun, the initial Mauser-based version, the Walther-based version everyone is familiar with, and the new one from the movie. Should we cover all three? Any ideas what gun the new one is based off of? --[[User:Funkychinaman|Funkychinaman]] ([[User talk:Funkychinaman|talk]]) 12:40, 10 December 2015 (EST)

:Here is the comment I left on The Man from U.N.C.L.E. Movie page: "The Man from Uncle Gun Facebook page now states that the gun used for the UNCLE carbine is a Walther GSP. Strange choice, since it is a target pistol. Besides that, it is anachronistic as the model in .32 wasn't even available until 1971. A Walther OSP could have been used instead, which was around during the timeframe of the movie."

Should we stick this on a seperate page for the TV series U.N.C.L.E. or incorporate it into the P-38 page? Or both? WikiSysop 23:45, 24 October 2008 (UTC)

There's a great page of images of the guns and screenshots from the show here http://www.theunclegun.com/gallery.php - the full title is The Man from U.N.C.L.E.
We shouldn't make separate pages for customized prop guns that are built from existing weapons. The Auto-9 from RoboCop, for instance, isn't given its own separate page; instead, it has an entry under the Beretta M93R page. -MT2008

Versions

From what I can tell, there are three distinct versions of the gun, the initial Mauser-based version, the Walther-based version everyone is familiar with, and the new one from the movie. Should we cover all three? Any ideas what gun the new one is based off of? --Funkychinaman (talk) 12:40, 10 December 2015 (EST)

Here is the comment I left on The Man from U.N.C.L.E.
There is also a fourth version of the UNCLE gun, the P7 based carbine used in "Return of the Man from UNCLE" --Phillb36 (talk) 15:59, 10 December 2015 (EST)
I just got Return of the Man from UNCLE the other day from Netflix, and I'm getting the new movie tonight. I'll take a look. Thanks. --Funkychinaman (talk) 16:15, 10 December 2015 (EST)
If you want to split hairs, since Illya is the only one to use the gun in the new movie, and there was no UNCLE until the very end, wouldn't it be a KGB custom pistol? --Funkychinaman (talk) 19:27, 7 January 2016 (EST)
