Red Dragon is the 2002 thriller once again featuring Anthony Hopkins as Dr. Hannibal Lecter. The film is based on the Thomas Harris book, which was previously turned into the 1986 Michael Mann film Manhunter.

The following guns were used in Red Dragon

Red Dragon (2002)

Smith & Wesson Model 459

The Smith & Wesson Model 459 is the main sidearm of FBI Special Agent Will Graham (Edward Norton) at the beginning of the movie in a shoulder holster. Graham is also seen preparing one for the raid on Dolarhyde's house. The FBI purchased 803 S&W 459's and issued it to agents in the early eighties. The second generation 459 was manufactured from 1979-1987. Since the film begins in 1980, Graham's 459 would be consistent.

Smith & Wesson Model 38 Airweight Bodyguard

Graham (Edward Norton) carries a Smith & Wesson Model 38 Airweight Bodyguard as his backup gun in an ankle holster. Uses it to shoot Dr. Lecter after he has been stabbed in the beginning of the movie. There is also a possibility that it is the Model 49 Bodyguard. The difference being that the Model 49 has an all steel frame where the Model 38 has an alloy frame.

Ruger SP101

A Ruger SP101 is used by Will Graham (Edward Norton) at the end of the movie to injure Francis Dolarhyde aka The Tooth Fairy (Ralph Fiennes) after he invades the Graham home.

Walther PPK

Graham's wife fires a PPK at Dolarhyde.

Walther PPK - 9mm Kurz aka 9x17mm (.380 ACP)
Didn't Will already teach her how to not flinch? Although, it is a very enclosed space, and she is not wearing ear protection, so she gets a pass.

Glock 17

A Glock 17 is used by the Francis Dolarhyde a.k.a.,the Tooth Fairy Killer (Ralph Fiennes) to kill Ralph Mandy, and later, when he invades the Graham home.

A Generation 1 Glock 17 in 9x19mm.
Ralph Fiennes does a good job at not flinching.
Gee, thanks to Hollywood's misconception of how suppressors work, no one heard me shoot this dude in public!

Mossberg 500

A Mossberg 500 is used by the Tooth Fairy (Ralph Fiennes) when the F.B.I. arrive at his house and earlier when he is contemplating suicide. It appears that the Mossberg is cut down.
