The following weapons were used in My Science Project.

M16

Mike (John Stockwell), Vinnie (Fisher Stevens) and Sherman (Raphael Sbarge) pilfer some M16 assault rifles from some Viet Cong soldiers they encounter inside the time-warped school. In a humorous sequence, unpopular nerd Sherman educates his classmates on the proper way of loading an M16.

The original M16, the first version, firing in a 20-round magazine, adopted in large numbers by the U.S. Air Force in Vietnam. This has the original 3-prong flash hider. It would later be replaced by the upgraded M16A1 - 5.56x45mm

Grenade Launcher

Although Vinnie and Sherman's M16s are of the ordinary variety, hero Mike manages to get one with a grenade launcher attachment, which is what allows him to fell the monstrous tyrannosaurus the three go up against.

The launcher is visible here.
