Misery

Misery is a 1990 horror thriller starring James Caan as a popular author who after suffering a terrible car crash finds himself in the care of an obsessive fan of his novels. The film was directed by Rob Reiner and was based on a Stephen King novel. Kathy Bates would win an Academy Award for her portrayal of Annie Wilkes.

Sheriff Buster (Richard Farnsworth) carries a 4”-barreled revolver that is never seen out of its holster. It is probably a S&W K-frame, but it is impossible to be sure.
