Miami Vice is the iconic 80's television crime drama that starred Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas as detectives in the Miami Metro-Dade Police Department who work undercover to root out the criminal elements working throughout the city. The series broke new ground for its visual style as well as its use of hit songs as background for each episode. The series also featured the debut of many firearms that are now commonplace in the films and television today such as the Glock 17. The executive producer of the series mostly credited with its look was Michael Mann, who went on to direct a feature film adaptation of the series in 2006 that starred Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx.
