Life on Mars is the American remake of the UK television series. It aired on ABC from 2008-2009 and follows a present day NYPD detective (Jason O'Mara) who after getting hit by a car, finds himself living in the year 1973.

The Colt Detective Special is used by Detective Gene Hunt (Harvey Keitel) in 1973.

The Colt Model 1911A1 is used by Trent (the robber) in the episode "The Real Adventures of the Unreal Sam Tyler".
