The Lahti L-35 is a Finnish manufactured semi-automatic pistol. It was manufactured from 1935 to 1952. The pistol was used by Finland throughout the Winter War (1939-1940) and the Continuation War (1941-1944). The Lahti was a high quality pistol which worked reliably in cold weather and when dirty.

A Swedish copy of the L-35 Lahti, the Husqvarna m/40, saw service with the Swedish military until the 1980s. The m/40 had the same internal design as the Finnish L-35, but was made from lower quality steel. Cracking in the frame was common. The cracking worsened when the Swedish military started shooting the hotter 9mm ammo ,designed for the Carl Gustav M/45 SMG, through the pistol. It was phased out in the 1980s and replaced by the Glock 17.
