The Kord is essentially an extensively re-worked NSV heavy machine gun; while visually similar, it uses a completely different internal mechanism.

Kord heavy machine gun with ammo box - 12.7x108mm. Compare to the NSV heavy machine gun; note the new stock, pistol grip rear of the receiver rather than underneath it, and bipod support partway along the lower barrel, not present on the NSV.
