JAG was a military legal drama series that focused on military lawyers in the Judge Advocate General Corps investigating and prosecuting cases involving personnel of the US Navy and Marine Corps. The series starred David James Elliott as Commander Harmon Rabb, Jr., who after being diagnosed with night blindness, gave up his career as a naval aviator and became a lawyer in the JAG Corps. The executive producer of the show was Donald Bellisario, who created such popular action shows of the 1980s as Magnum, P.I. and Airwolf. JAG premiered in 1995 on NBC, but was not renewed by the network after its first season.
