Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel (2004)

Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel (also know as FOBOS) is an action roleplaying game based on the post-apocalyptic Fallout universe. It was published in 2004 for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox, and developed and published by Interplay. Reception was overwhelmingly negative, both on its own merits and in keeping with the franchise. Despite the critical and commercial failure, Interplay Entertainment still attempted to develop a sequel until financial issues forced it to sell the IP to Bethesda. Serious continuity issues lead to the game being declared completely non-canon by Bethesda (unlike Fallout Tactics, where bits and pieces might still be canonical).

The game's ammo system is somewhat simplified, with most non-energy firearms firing either "Small" or "Large" bullets (with Small bullets visually being a small cardboard box of bullets that looks roughly 9x19mm and Large bullets being a large military ammo box similar to Fallout's .223 ammo box), with some exceptions such as flamethrowers or shotguns using their own ammo type.

The following weapons appear in the video game Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel:

Handguns

Beretta 92FS

The Beretta 92FS returns from Fallout Tactics, referred to as the "Beretta". It is one of the first weapons obtained by the player and fires Small bullet ammo. It is also one of the few weapons that can be dual-wielded.

Desert Eagle Mark VII

A Desert Eagle variant most resembling the Desert Eagle Mark VII in .44 Magnum, present in three Fallout games to date, returns. It serves as an excellent pistol during the beginning of the game, offering higher damage than other pistols but uses Large ammo instead. It is also one of the few weapons that can be dual-wielded.

Homemade Pistol

The "Homemade Pistol" is a crafted pistol firing Small ammunition and is the player's starting weapon. It's a nod to the zip gun of Fallout Tactics.

The "small" icon (used when swapping weapons during gameplay) and promotional renders show an early model with an improvised bayonet built from scrap metal paired in some places with pieces of cloth. It's the main weapon of Jane's raiders in Carbon during Chapter 1 and is the first automatic weapon available to the player.
