Submachine Guns

MP40

MP40s are used by a German Feldgendarmerie (Military Police) on the train and some Volkssturm members.

Soviet Soldiers are armed with PPSh-41. Like the M44 carbine, it is first seen in 1939.

Rifles

Karabiner 98k

Karabiner 98ks are used by German soldiers including Ulmayer (Martin Maria Blau), Robert Kellermann (André Wilms), and the Feldwebel (Sergeant) (Bernhard Howe). Salomon also uses a Kar98k while he pretends to be Josef „Jupp“ Peters. Numerous Hitler Youth and Volkssturm members can also be seen with the carbines.

Shortly after, he presents Salomon to his commanding officer.

Later in the school, he and other students practice their bayonet attack skills on a Jewish puppet.

Mosin Nagant M44 Carbine

Soviet soldiers are mainly armed with Mosin Nagant M44 Carbines which are first seen during the Soviet occupation of Poland in 1939.

Mauser Puška vz. 24

Two German soldiers can be seen with a VZ-24 Czech Mausers. When Salomon is drafted into Volkssturm, he wields this rifle with a Kar98k-style bolt handle.

MG 42

What appears to be an anachronistic MG42 (for 1941) is mounted on a post-war ZiS BTR-152 truck, mocked up to resemble a German half-track.

MG 34

The MG34 is used by German soldiers.
