Cape Fear is the 1991 remake of the 1962 film of the same name. This version was directed by Martin Scorsese and stars Robert De Niro as Max Cady, a just released convict who exacts revenge on the lawyer Sam Bowden (Nick Nolte), who put him away.

The handgun that Claude Kersek (Joe Don Baker) uses is a nickel Colt Detective Special. Later on the houseboat, Max Cady (Robert De Niro) is seen holding it on Sam Bowden (Nick Nolte) and his family.
