ArmA: Armed Assault (also known as ArmA: Combat Operations in North America and simply called "ArmA") is the first installment of the ArmA series, considered as the spiritual successor to the original Operation Flashpoint and was released in North America on May 4, 2007.
The storyline revolves around a war in the fictional island of Sahrani, which was divided into two regimes; Democratic Republic of Sahrani - DRS in the north, and Kingdom of South Sahrani in the south. The player takes the role of a United States Army soldier fighting with his platoon and collaborating with the Royal Army Corps of Sahrani (RACS) against the Sahrani Liberation Army (SLA).
An expansion pack called ArmA: Queen's Gambit was released on September 28 in the same year and features new weapons, new characters, new missions, new storyline and gameplay improvement.

The M4 Carbine is the standard issue weapon of the US forces, and available either with iron sights, Aimpoint M68 CCO, Trijicon ACOG, and M203A1 grenade launcher. The full-auto M4A1 is also available in the same configurations, though features one variant with a KAC QDSS-NT4 suppressor.
Colt M16A2
The M16A2 is the standard issue weapon of the RACS. A version with a M203 grenade launcher is also available.
Colt M16A4
The M16A4 is a weapon introduced in update version 1.04 of the game, and available either with iron sights, Trijicon ACOG and M203A2 grenade launcher, though all of them features AN/PEQ-2 IR designator.
