Several U.S. Soldiers can be seen armed with M1903 Springfield bolt-action rifles. These rifles are appear to be used by Japanese soldiers as well.

M1928A1 Thompson

Several Marines who fight on Guadalcanal in Part 1 are seen with the M1928A1 Thompson. Lt. Hugh Corrigan (Henry Nixon) had a 50 round drum on his for most of Part 1 until the end, replacing it with a 20 round "stick" magazine. In Part 2, Sgt. Manuel 'Manny' Rodriguez (Jon Bernthal) uses an M1928A1 Thompson with a stick magazine when running ammunition.
