Most of the MP40s seen in the film are airsoft replicas, if not all. This is evidenced by the fact that most of the guns don't eject any shells, and the CGI muzzle flashes have been added in post-production.

MP40

The main weapon of the German troops in Norway is the MP40, most notably a Waffen SS soldier (Dominic Ryan) who uses it to execute Norwegian civilians for aiding the resistance. 30 Commando Troop use captured MP40s in training to familiarize with German weaponry; Sergeant Gray (Tony Hood) also uses a captured MP40 in combat. Most of the MP40s seen in the film are airsoft replicas, if not all. This is evidenced by the fact that most of the guns don't eject any shells, and the CGI muzzle flashes have been added in post-production.
