The China Syndrome

The China Syndrome is a 1979 thriller starring Jack Lemmon as a desperate supervisor of a nuclear power plant who tries to expose its dangers by taking a news reporter hostage. The film was released just 12 days before the infamous Three Mile Island nuclear power plant accident.

Jack Goddell (Jack Lemmon) is seen taking a Smith & Wesson Model 10 from a security guard to threaten the technicians inside the control of the nuclear power plant.

M16A1

Several SWAT officers are seen armed with the M16A1.

The original M16, the first version, firing in a 20-round magazine, adopted in large numbers by the U.S. Army in Vietnam. This has the original 3-prong flash hider. It would later be replaced by the upgraded M16A1 - 5.56mm

Ithaca 37

Another SWAT officer is briefly seen armed with an Ithaca 37 shotgun.
