Jesse James (Kris Kristofferson), uses a Smith & Wesson Schofield Model 3 as his sidearm in the film, although in real life this was one of many sidearms he carried, his favorite being his Remington 1875 revolver.

This gun is likely standing in for the Smith & Wesson Schofield Ford really used, possibly because the actor had difficulty cocking the hammer and so a double action gun was chosen instead.
